This project covers a part of Radobolja riverbed from the bridge in Husnija Rebac Street, along the „Rose“ Hotel to the Tabacica mosque due to flooding of the old part of the city because of the overflowing of Radobolja river in times of high river water level during abundant precipitation. Cadaster lots of the part of the Radobolja river where the works were carried out on the riverbed maintenance are: cadastre lots 5628, 5650, 5651, 5652, 5653 and 5655 (old cadastre lots 48/110, 45/96, 48/132, 59/118).

In the course of the war actions in 1992-1995, roofed over part of the channels was pierced with a grenade, and the channel was buried, so due to abundant rains and Radobolja high river water level they caused Radobolja to overflow and then the streets were flooded, water penetrated the houses, business facilities and movement of the citizens and tourists through the old part of the city were made impossible, as well as the beneficiaries of business premises.

Design solution of maintenance dealt with cleaning of the roofed over backwater of Radobolja river against the imploded material and the transport of that material to the city dump, examination and repair of the walls and the vault, repair and pointing joints on them, as well as installation of worn out and missing table-shaped gates. Walls and the vault of the vault of the roofed over part of the riverbed were cleaned of the moss and vegetation and thereafter repair of the walls and the vault of the channel was carried out (immuring in places where stone elements are missing) with pointing joints in them with lime mortar. At the start of the roofed over part of the Radobolja riverbed, a replacement of a worn out table-shaped gate, and by the „Rose“ hotel an installation of a missing metal table-shaped gate was carried out, with a mechanism to raise and lower those gates.

Works on the project of „Current maintenance of the closed backwater of Radobolja river" started on 1.8.2011 and the works finished on 06.09.2011. Internal committee, made up of the representatives of investor (Agencija "Stari grad") and contractor, visited on 12.9.2011 the accomplished works in the field and it determined that those works were carried out in accordance with design documentation and in conformity with technical regulations, obligatory standards and normatives and obligations stemming from the decision of the Commission to Preserve National Monuments on designation of historical city area to constitute national monument wherein the pertinent location is situated.

Management and maintenance of the gates will be carried out by J.P. "Komunalno" d.o.o. Mostar (public enterprise of „Utility services“ l.l.c.) founded by city of Mostar.
