CURRENT MAINTENANCE AND CONSERVATION OF THE RAMPARTS OF THE OLD CITY OF BLAGAJ (STJEPAN GRAD) III PHASE

After implemented procedure of public procurement „Stari grad“ Agency signed with „Građevinar Fajić“ construction company limited liability company a contract to carry out the works on the project „Current maintenance and conservation of ramparts of the old city of Blagaj (Stjepan grad III phase“. The total value of the works which have been carried out amounts 51,457.65 convertible marks (with Value Added Tax included in the price). ARHI-Plus company was awarded the supervision over the performance of those works and on 11.1.2016 a contract was signed with it and the value of the works amounts 2,515.50 convertible marks (with Value Added Tax included in the price). The funds were provided from the budget of the city of Mostar for 2015, and the manager of the procedure on behalf of“Stari grad“ Agency is Mr. Anto Sain, BSc in Civil Engineering. Works on the pertinent project started on 7.3.2016, and they ended on 3.6.2016.

In conformity with finished situation, the following works were carried out:

Disassembly of non-consolidated stone with wall cladding cleaned mechanically. One should clean the disassembled stone and one should prepare the stone to be built in again.

Procurement, transport and fabrication of scaffolding to support the masonry while disassembly is taking place, as well as fabrication of formwork to build arch openings.

Procurement, transport and building of the wall surface with existing and new chiselled stone in ratio 30:70.

Procurement, transport and building of the masonry wall crown with existing and new stone in ratio 50:50. The crown should be made with inclination toward outside.

Dressing and building two-face reveal wall openings, manufacturing of stone arch lintels, as well as connecting with the existing face of the wall by means of existing and new stone.

Procurement, transport and grouting with lime-based injection grouts into the visible wall cracks.

Procurement, transport and building of the masonry wall crown with existing and new stone in ratio 50:50.

Procurement, transport and building of the wall with two faces with existing and new chiselled stone in ratio 20:80.

Procurement, transport and building wall surface with existing and new chiselled stone in ratio 40:60.

Building of defence parapet in accordance with discovered condition.

On 7.6.2016 Committee for inspection of works which were carried out composed of the representatives of investors, contractors and supervision paid a visit to the location of the pertinent contract and found out that the works have been carried out in compliance with scope of the works and the contracted conditions, and that all of that has been done in compliance with the project and in accordance with valid technical regulations, obligatory standards, normative provisions and obligations which stem from the decision of the Committee to Preserve National Monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina about designation of Historical area - Old city of Blagaj (Stjepan grad) in Blagaj near Mostar as national monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina („Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina“, numbered 37/04) and the Act on Physical Planning and Land Use at the level of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina („Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina“ 2/06, 72/07, 32/08, 40/10 and 13/10).
