Current maintenance with conservation of the ramparts of the Old city of Blagaj (Stjepan grad) - fourth phase

On 18.06.2021 Agencija "Stari grad" made a decision to launch public procurement procedure by way of competitive request to implement e-auction for receiving bids to procure the works: "Current maintenance with conservation of the ramparts of the Old city of Blagaj (Stjepan grad) - fourth phase".

After implemented procedure of public procurement, Agencija "Stari grad" on 16.07.2021 signed contract with the best bidder "Građevinar Fajić" d. o. o. Mostar to perform the pertinent works in the amount of 54.896,40 convertible marks with Value Added Tax included in the price. Funds were provided from the budget of the city of Mostar for 2021.

On 04.10.2021 Agencija "Stari grad"made a decision to launch the public procurement procedure by way of direct agreement to procure services: "Supervision over current maintenance with conservation of the ramparts of the Old city of Blagaj (Stjepan grad) fourth phase".

After implemented public procurement procedure, on 11.10.2021 Agencija "Stari grad" signed a contract with the best bidder G. D. Bišina d. o. o. Mostar for performance of the services of supervision over the pertinent works in the amount of 1.638,00 convertible marks with Value Added Tax included in the price.

In conformity with tender documentation, the following works have been performed:

I PRELIMINARY WORK

Designed and (fully) built machine ramp (cableway) with handy vehicle and appropriate motor to transport equipment and material. Before the use of the cableway the layout was examined and approved by the project manager designated in the contract on the implementation of the works and authorized on the part of the investor;

Owing to the inaccesibility of the building site and lack of infrastructure, it was planned to supply electric energy, supply and deposit water and the similar technological needs indispensable for performance of the conservationist works in the old part of the city in Blagaj.

II PREPARATORY WORK
Performed necessary cleaning against vegetation;

Performed preparation of the terrain to set up the scaffolding in order to perform the works;

Assembly and disassembly of the necessary scaffolding to perform the works, on the eastern rampart in order to perform the conservationist works safely.

III CONSERVATIONIST-BRICKLAYER'S WORK

Before the start of conservationist works, contractor, supervising agency and the investor of the works identified locations for individual positions of the work and order of action as well as they examined the stone which arrived, in addition to the other binding materials that have been applied;

Disassembly of the non-consolidated stone, providing the remaining stone from falling down. Disassembled stone cleaned and prepared to be installed again.

Procurement, transport and building of wall surface with present and new chiselled stone in 30:70 ratio. Previously the existing stone was cleaned, sorted and prepared for installation. It is necessary to clean the wall background, all the stone which is separated has been removed, the background washed with water and moistened before building. While building, one paid attention to the bond of the wall Fastening of the wall surface against the wall corpus was performed in such a way that two up to four stones occupying one square metre entered deeply into the interior of the wall. Before building the wall has been cleaned against all the impurities and vegetation;

Procurement, transport and building of the wall crown in lime cement mortar 1:1:4. One used present and new stone in 50:50 ratio to build, which was drowned in mortar at the end in order to enable the water to drain off the merlon. The wall crown should be built in a slight inclination towards outside. Before building the wall has been cleaned against impurities and vegetation;

Finish and building of reveals of the opening in the wall with two faces, fabrication of the stone arch lintels, fabrication of the stone frames and building with the present wall face with the present and new stone;

Careful disassembly of the loosely connected stone from the interior of the fortification at the eastern part of the city, as well as carrying out and putting aside of the material with smooth edges as a result of grinding;

Careful excavation of one to two probes which connect the interior of the fortification and its access 1.2 metres deep;

Procurement, transport and building two-face wall with an existing and new chiselled stone in 20:80 ratio;

Procurement, transport and building of the wall crown in interior walls of the rampart in lime cement mortar 1:1:4. Present and new stone in 50:50 ratio are used for building, which is submerged into mortar at the end in order to enable the drainage of the water off the wall top. The wall crown should be built in a slight inclination towards outside;

Procurement, transport and building two-face wall with an existing and new chiselled stone in 20:80 ratio of the fence wall "defence parapet" 80 cm high from the final dimension of the wall;

Manual building-archaeological excavation of the collapsed stone material in front of and within the rampart. Usable stone should be separated and deposited to a more suitable location in order to be used again;

Procurement, transport and installation of mortars in order to fill the joints in the walls, ramparts and fortification with lime mortar;

Procurement, transport of the crushed stone 10 cm high and its spreading on the floor of the room in the towers.

On 07.12.2021 Agencija "Stari grad" received a notification about the completion of the works from contractor of the works Građevinar Fajić d. o. o. Mostar: "Current maintenance with conservation of the ramparts of the Old city of Blagaj (Stjepan grad) IV phase“.

On 08.12.2021 Committee for inspection of the works implemented the internal delivery of the performed works by way of minutes, and it concluded that those works have been performed in accordance with scope and contracted conditions, and in conformity with technical regulations, standards, normative provisions and obligations stemming from the decision of Commission to Preserve National Monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina about designation of historic area - Old city of Blagaj (Stjepan grad) as national monument.
